Colour

Colour in a diamond appears as variants of a pale yellow, and a diamond is actually graded higher for its lack of colour. This is usually categorised from D to Z grades, so essentially the less colour, the clearer the diamond.  Any colour from both colourless grades (D-F) and near-colourless grades (G-J) diamonds typically cannot be detected by the naked eye and the difference is only really noticeable when two diamonds from different parts of the grading spectrum are held together and one might appear to have a more yellow-ish tinge.  At Aurorastone, we believe that colour is another very important factor, and it is for this reason, we do not stock anything beyond J, to ensure our customers diamond’s sparkle and clarity are never dulled by it’s natural colour.
